Psycholog społeczny i pracy. Zajmuje się związkiem procesów afektywnych i poznawczych, stresem człowieka w pracy i poza nią, korelatami zaangażowania, wydajności i satysfakcji z pracy. Inny nurt badań dotyczy doświadczania globalizacji z perspektywy poczucia jakości życia, jego teorie i pomiar.

W swoich badaniach naukowych zajmuję się psychologią jakości życia, psychologią zdrowia, psychoprofilaktyką oraz psychologią religii. Aktualne zainteresowania naukowe koncentrują się wokół badań w następujących obszarach: jakość życia i zdrowie, radzenie sobie ze stresem, dobrostan psychiczny i osobowość, relacje religii i zdrowia psychicznego w kontekście indywidualnym i społecznym, jakość życia rodzinnego.

Dr hab. Dariusz Krok, prof. UO : pracownik naukowy Uniwersytetu Opolskiego; dr hab. nauk teologicznych (2010), dr hab. nauk społecznych w zakresie psychologii (2019). Obecnie kierownik Katedry Psychologii Zdrowia i Jakości Życia. W swoich badaniach zajmuje się psychologią jakości życia, psychologią zdrowia, psychologią osobowości i psychologią religii. Autor kilku książek (m.in. Religijność a jakość życia w perspektywie mediatorów psychospołecznych, W poszukiwaniu znaczenia choroby nowotworowej) oraz ponad 100 artykułów z dziedziny psychologii oraz teologii wydrukowanych w recenzowanych czasopismach zagranicznych i krajowych. Należy do kilku towarzystw naukowych zagranicznych i polskich oraz jest członkiem redakcji kilku czasopism zagranicznych i polskich. Odbył staż naukowy w ramach Visiting Fellowship w University of London i Palacky University oraz prowadził wykłady w ramach programu Erasmus+ w Anglii, Belgii, Słowacji i Czechach. W rankingu 2% najbardziej wpływowych naukowców na świecie przygotowywanym przez Uniwersytet Stanforda i wydawnictwo Elsevier znalazł się naukowców uwzględnionych w kategorii „osiągnięć naukowych” za rok 2022, 2023 i 2024.

Moje zainteresowania badawcze koncentrują się na szeroko rozumianej gerontopsychologii, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem czynników kształtujących pozytywne starzenie się oraz poczucie jakości życia osób starszych. Interesują mnie również czynniki warunkujące aktywność seksualną osób starszych oraz ich satysfakcję seksualną.
